Boreal and John Grey

Centuries ago, they nearly conquered humankind. But their Gate to our world closed, leaving them out. Now the elves have found a way back.

Season One

Ella Benson, agent of the Paranormal Bureau, fights the Shades when they cross into our world, keeping everyone safe. But increasingly dangerous creatures are slipping into her city, her work partner has just gone missing, and a mysterious – and, quite frankly, hot — guy saves her life. His name is Finn and, as it turns out, he’s a natural when it comes to fighting the Shades.

When the Gates between the worlds start opening and the elves make a comeback, Ella needs a new, temporary partner. Enlisting the mysterious Finn is a no-brainer, until she realizes he is guarding dangerous secrets of his own.

Together with Finn, and the fate of the world on her shoulders, what’s Ella to do but grab her weapons and figure it all out, one way or another.

Winter is on the doorstep and everything looks good for Ella and Finn. The impending disaster has been averted: the Gates are closed, the Veil is strong, and the world is safe — or so it would seem.

But what about the golden threads appearing in the air, Finn’s reluctance to share information — not to mention his dreams — and a dragon loose on the city? What is the Dark Elves’ real purpose and Dave’s role?

Something is brewing behind the Veil and Ella knows it won’t be long before the fragile peace shatters and another race against time begins.

SEASON THREE OF BOREAL AND JOHN GREY BEGINS

Cross the Gate with Finn and Ella into Aelfheim, the mythical world of the elves…

Leaving behind the intrigues of the Organization, Ella and Finn cross into Aelfheim. Finn’s plan is to throw the Dark Elves off his trail and investigate whether his mother is still alive. Unwilling to stay behind, Ella follows, determined to stay by his side, no matter what.

It’s a world plunged into an ice age, a frigid, lethal landscape full of nightmarish creatures — not to mention the elves — all of it a shock to Ella.
In Aelfheim, she is the outsider. Traveling with Finn who’s been ostracized by his people makes matters worse. As they venture deeper into elf country, Ella fears her presence will only complicate things for Finn.

Then again, in Ella’s book, there’s only one way to find out…

The Music

Boreal and John Grey #3.2

Try bargaining for your life with snotty elves who speak a language that sounds like yours but in fact means nothing like it… Now try doing this while Finn, your only real connection this world of ice and magic, is out cold and can’t help you. While you worry that he may be dying and that every move you make to help costs him time he doesn’t have. While the one elf you’ve come to see in the hopes of receiving aid — Elsen, Finn’s friend — can’t understand you and doesn’t seem too keen on helping.

No wonder Ella is getting pissed, and a pissed Ella is a sight to behold — because now she has magic, strong magic that rivals Finn’s, and she can barely control it. Between Finn’s fever-induced nightmares and her own fury, they are sure to draw attention, trapped as they are in an underground city while the lethal wind rages outside.

With the elven Queen Adramar pulling every string in Aelfheim, it would be too much to hope that she doesn’t take notice…

The Verse

Boreal and John Grey #3.3

Deep in Aelfheim country, Ella, Finn and Elsen are making their escape from the underground military base, with the aid of the dragon Snowstorm. Their first destination is a Boreal supply station, and their immediate goal is survival. Both their escape and survival might prove tricky, though, given that Queen Adramar has set all her forces in pursuit — the Boreal dragon rider unit, all her spies as well as the machines under her control.

But even if Ella and the two elves managed to shake off their pursuers, Aelfheim isn’t a world to be taken lightly. As she soon discovers, Finn’s tales didn’t quite do justice to the savage animals, crazy rogue machines, or the treacherous climate conditions of this frozen world.

If the snowstorms and deadly winds don’t get them, if the sleeping towers don’t rise from the snow and shoot them down, if the rock wolves and ice cats don’t have them for dinner… then there’s hope for another day.
